HANOVER – How does a $20 bet pay for a college education?
When that scratch ticket purchase turns into a $1 million winner.
Kyle Laffin, of Hanover, recently cashed in his winning ticket in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$10,000,000 Premier Cash” $20 instant ticket game. He took the cash payout option – a $650,000 lump sum, before taxes – and plans to use part of his winnings to pay off his student loans.
Winning big: Quincy grocery store sells $1 million Lottery ticket
Laffin bought the ticket at Hingham Gulf on Whiting Street when he went into the store to buy a bottle of water. The station receives a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
