Who We Are

My Brother’s Keeper is a vibrant, welcoming Christian ministry with locations in Easton and Dartmouth, MA which delivers furniture and food to families in need. Our mission is “To bring the Love and Hope of Jesus Christ to those we serve.” Anyone living in our service area in Southeastern Massachusetts is eligible to receive our help, regardless of religion. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit and all services are provided free of charge.

THEN AND NOW
My Brother’s Keeper was founded in 1988 by a husband and wife serving families in need from the basement of their home. Today, 5,000 volunteers and 15 employees work together from two modern facilities to make 18,500 deliveries each year. Since our founding, we have made more than 190,000 total deliveries to people in need across eastern Massachusetts.

UNIQUE
We are one of the only charities in Southeastern Massachusetts which delivers furniture free of charge as a core program. The delivery component of our work is vitally important to those without transportation or the physical means to move heavy items.

FAITHFUL TO OUR MISSION
As a Christian ministry, we offer a crucifix or some reminder of Christ as a gift at each delivery conveying the assistance comes from God through us.

EXCELLENCE
Because we serve in Christ’s name, every donated good is new or in like-new condition.

RESPECT
We do not judge. We serve with dignity. No one seeking assistance is required to justify their need. Our delivery vehicles are unmarked to protect the privacy of those receiving our help.

SOURCE OF FUNDING
We depend solely on private charitable donations. No donated goods are ever sold and we accept no government support.

USE OF FUNDING
We work hard to be outstanding stewards. 94% of every dollar goes to program services. As a matter of policy, we do not accumulate funds. We believe donations should pass through us, not remain with us.
